SMVDU inaugurates e-Yantra Robotics Lab

JAMMU, Mar 13: The School of Electronics & Communication Engineering (SoECE) at SMVDU, in collaboration with IIT Bombay's e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI), inaugurated its e-Yantra Robotics Lab. Established within the 5G-IoT Lab, the facility aims to enhance AI, ML, and robotics education, equipping students with hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills to improve employability and entrepreneurship. Prof. Shubha Pandit (Advisor, e-Yantra) emphasized the importance of robotics in engineering education. Dr. Shashi Bhushan Kotwal (Assistant Professor, SoECE) showcased IoT and robotics-related projects, demonstrating real-world applications. Students from various engineering branches are engaged in interdisciplinary robotics projects, reflecting the lab's broad impact. The event was attended by faculty members, including Dr. Yatheshth Anand (HoD, SoME), Swastik Gupta (SoECE), Dr. Varun Dutta (SoME), and Manoj Kumar Verma (SoCSE), alongside students and Laboratory staff members Mr. Gaurav Kumar, Deepankur Gupta and e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI) representatives from IIT Bombay. The Robotics Club at SMVDU displayed innovative projects. Dr. Yatheshth Anand also informed the audience about robotics-related courses such as Industrial Robotics and Kinematics and Dynamics of Robotics. This initiative strengthens SMVDU's commitment to preparing students for a technology-driven future.
