UDHAMPUR, Mar 13: District Police Udhampur, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramnagar, have arrested a shopkeeper and three individuals for the illegal sale and consumption of alcohol at a local Karyana/Meat shop in Badhole, Ramnagar.
Acting on reliable information regarding the sale of illicit liquor at a local shop, a police team from P/S Ramnagar conducted a raid at the location. The shop owner, identified as Sanjay Kumar, son of Naseeb Chand, a resident of Badhole, Ramnagar, was found unlawfully selling alcohol from his shop. Additionally, three individuals-Ravi Kumar, son of Banu Ram, resident of Surni; Rajnish Kumar, son of Roshan Lal, resident of Surni; and Pritam Kumar, son of Naseeb Chand, resident of Badhole-were caught consuming alcohol at the shop. All were arrested on the spot.
During the search, a total of 27 bottles of 250 ml and 4 bottles of 750 ml of illicit liquor were recovered from the shop.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 29/2025 under Sections 48(A), 48(F), and 50(A) of the Excise Act at P/S Ramnagar.
Further investigation into the matter is underway. |
