SSP Udhampur addresses 'Thana Diwas' and Awareness drive on new criminal laws

UDHAMPUR, Mar 18: As part of the ongoing community policing initiative, Thana Diwas was organized at Police Station Majalta under the chairmanship of SSP Udhampur, Sh. Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS. He was accompanied by ASP Udhampur Sh. Sandeep Bhatt, SDPO Ramnagar Sh. Sultan Mirza, Prob. DySP Ms. Pushpa, APP Majalta Ms. Aparajita, SHO PS Majalta Insp. Sohan Singh, and Naib Tehsildar Sh. Bhushan Sharma.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from PRI members, prominent citizens, and local residents, with an impressive gathering of approximately 250-300 people. The primary objective of Thana Diwas was to establish direct communication with the public, address their grievances, and ensure effective solutions.
During the session, multiple public issues were raised, and SSP Udhampur assured the attendees that grievances related to the police department would be addressed on priority. As a symbol of commitment to a greener and healthier environment, SSP Udhampur also planted a tree, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation alongside law enforcement.
The locals appreciated the initiative and lauded the efforts of Udhampur Police in promoting community engagement, environmental awareness, and strengthening law enforcement mechanisms. Thana Diwas concluded with a collective commitment to fostering a safer, greener, and crime-free society.
