JAMMU, Apr 8: Continuing its crackdown on illegal transportation of cattle under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the Nagrota Sub-Division.
A police team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli intercepted a Mahindra load carrier (JK03K/1061) at Pranjal Naka. During the inspection, 04 bovines were found being transported without valid permission. The driver of the vehicle managed to flee from the spot.
The vehicle was seized on the spot, and the rescued bovines were handed over to the concerned authorities for safe custody.
A case FIR No. 50/2025 under Sections 223/11 of the PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, and further investigation is underway to trace the absconding accused.
