Rajouri police foil bovine smuggling bid, one held | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Apr 8: In a swift action against illegal cattle transportation, Rajouri Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and arrested one individual involved in the act. The incident occurred during routine patrolling at Dharali Morh, where a police team from Police Station Rajouri intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK11E 0598. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found carrying eight bovine animals in a cruel manner and without valid permission from the competent authority. The driver, identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Mir Hussain, resident of Naraian, Nowshera, was arrested on the spot. A case FIR No. 183/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rajouri. Further investigation is in progress to trace the network behind the smuggling attempt. |
