Young Progressive Sikh Forum Honours Chancellor Dr Zora Singh at Baisakhi Celebration

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Apr 15: In a moment of great pride and recognition, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, was conferred with a special honour by the Young Progressive Sikh Forum (YPSF) during a grand Baisakhi celebration held at the prestigious Bel-La-Monde Hotel in Delhi. The event, led by Dr. Prabhleen Singh, President of YPSF and Officer on Special Duty to the Haryana Government, brought together eminent personalities and community leaders to celebrate cultural heritage and progress. Dr. Singh, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, was applauded for his remarkable contributions to the field of education and his unwavering commitment to community service.
The event was organized in collaboration with S. Gurmeet Singh, Chairman of the Bel-La-Monde Group of Hotels.
In his address, Dr. Zora Singh praised the efforts of YPSF and the Bel-La-Monde Group for fostering community spirit and cultural pride among the youth. He urged young Sikhs to stay rooted in their heritage while advancing toward a progressive future. Commending the organizers, he emphasized that such events are vital for preserving traditions and encouraging collective growth.
The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon'ble Minister of Power and Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, who attended as the Chief Guest. Other eminent guests included Ms. Rekha Gupta, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi,S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Hon'ble Minister of Industries, Food & Supply, and Environment, Forest & Wildlife (Government of NCT of Delhi); S. Harmeet Singh Kalka, President, DSGMC; and S. Iqbal Singh Lalpura, former IPS officer and Chairman of the Indian National Commission for Minorities.
Distinguished personalities such as S. Raju Chadha, Chairman of Wave Group; Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha); Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal; Dr. (Er.) Sandeep Singh, President of Desh Bhagat University; Amritpal Singh Dardi, Director of Chardikala Group; S. Harpreet Singh Sahni, Executive Editor of PTC News; and MLA Gurdev Singh Mann of Nabha, also attended. Cultural icons like Satinder Satti, Hobby Dhaliwal, and Amar Noorie added a festive charm to the celebration.
