Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 19: Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta today felicitated Shri Dwarka Nath, a retired principal, as part of the ongoing fortnight celebrations to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Principal Architect of the Indian Constitution. The event was aimed at honoring individuals who have contributed significantly to education and social upliftment, embodying the ideals of Baba Saheb.
During the felicitation ceremony, Arvind Gupta presented Dwarka Nath with a special letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter, issued in commemoration of Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti, outlines the immense contribution of Baba Saheb towards building an inclusive and democratic India and highlights the various initiatives taken by the Modi Government to preserve and promote his legacy. The letter also sheds light on how past Congress-led regimes neglected and even undermined the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, failing to give him the respect and institutional recognition he truly deserved.
Arvind Gupta, while speaking on the occasion, reiterated that the BJP is committed to upholding the vision of Dr. Ambedkar by empowering the marginalized and ensuring social justice. "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government has taken landmark steps in commemorating Baba Saheb's contributions, such as the development of 'Panch Teerth' and the setting up of memorials at important places associated with his life," Gupta said.
The MLA emphasized that real tribute to Dr. Ambedkar is not just in celebration but in implementation of his ideas of equality, education, and empowerment.
Among those present on the occasion included senior party leaders Rattan Lal Bhagat, Sohan Lal, Puran Chand Kanethia, L.D. Gorkha, Rashpal Digra, Mandal President Kushant Prajapati, General Secretary Mohit Vaid, and Vice President Karan Sharma. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to further strengthen the values of the Constitution as envisioned by Dr. Ambedkar.
