Mobile phones of 15 OGWs found active in Baisaran Valley during massacre of tourists
Pahalgam Attack

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 27: In a major breakthrough following the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack, security agencies have identified 15 local Over Ground Workers (OGWs) whose mobile phones were found active in the Baisaran Valley at the time of the assault.
Sources revealed that these individuals are suspected of providing critical logistical support to the terrorists who carried out the gruesome attack on tourists.
According to sources, electronic surveillance data played a pivotal role in establishing the involvement of these OGWs. The tracking of mobile signals and communication patterns indicated that the local collaborators were in close proximity to the attack site during the carnage, directly aiding the terrorists in navigating the difficult terrain of Baisaran Valley.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a group comprising local terrorists and at least two Pakistani militants orchestrated the brutal assault, which claimed the lives of innocent tourists.
The OGWs are believed to have provided not just guidance and shelter but also critical on-ground intelligence to the attackers, enabling them to strike with precision and subsequently evade security forces by disappearing into the dense forest areas.
The attack, which has sent shockwaves across the country, underscores the persistent threat posed by the terror-support ecosystem thriving within certain pockets of the Kashmir Valley. The incident has also reignited concerns about the role of local enablers in facilitating cross-border terrorism.
In response to the attack, security forces have launched an intensified crackdown on the terror network across the Kashmir Valley. So far, over 200 suspects have been detained for questioning. Multiple cordon and search operations (CASOs), night raids, and surveillance drives are being conducted to dismantle the support structures aiding terrorism. Security has been heightened with additional mobile checkpoints and increased patrolling, particularly in high-risk and forested areas.
Officials stressed that the ongoing operations aim not only to bring the perpetrators to justice but also to root out the local support base that continues to provide safe passage and operational assistance to militants. Intelligence inputs suggest that further arrests and revelations are likely as the investigation progresses.
The Pahalgam attack is being seen as a grim reminder of the changing tactics of terrorist outfits, relying heavily on local networks to evade conventional counter-terror measures. The identification of the OGWs marks a significant step forward in exposing these hidden networks and ensuring that those responsible for aiding and abetting terrorism face the full force of the law.
Security forces have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining pressure on terror outfits and their collaborators, with a clear message that such heinous acts will not go unpunished.
