Medical shop sealed for violation of drug laws at Pundal, Latti | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 30: In a major crackdown on the unauthorized sale of controlled substances, the District Police Udhampur, in coordination with the Drug and Food Control Organization, sealed a medical shop at Pundal, Latti for violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The action was taken against New Apollo Pharmacy, run by Tanveer Hussain, a resident of Pundal, for failing to maintain sale and purchase records of Schedule H1 drugs, which are mandated to be sold strictly against valid prescriptions. Schedule H1 drugs, due to their potential for misuse, are tightly regulated. Authorities stated that any violation of record-keeping and prescription norms could lead to serious legal consequences. The District Police has issued a strong warning to all medical store owners to comply with the law and maintain proper documentation to avoid similar actions. The enforcement teams reiterated their commitment to curbing drug misuse and ensuring public health safety in the region.
