Jammu & Kashmir claims 14 medals in National Muay Thai Championship

JAMMU, Apr 30: J&K Sports Taekwondo Association bagged 14 medals in the National Muay Thai India National Championship from 25 to 27th April 2025 held at Sports Complex 42 Sec. Chandigarh. The championship was organized by World Boxing Council Amateur Muay Thai India. There were about 190 students from 19 states who took part in this championship wherein a 15 member team of J&K led by Anil Nanda (Hall of Fame Award) was also the Chief Technical Director and Mrs. Ronika Rathore girls team Manager J&K team performed exceptionally well winning 6- Gold, 7 Silver and ___ Bronze Medals. During felicitation programme. Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the (NC) J&K and former Chief Minister of J&K also congratulated the team on their outstaying performance and expressed his commitment to support the promotion of martial art in future championship. Dr. Farooq Abdullah said &K Union Territory has no dearth of talent but there is need for identifying the talented lot and providing them the best available coaching so that they find their rightful place in the national and international events.
The player who won medals are Samarth Gupta Jodhamal Public School (Gold) Aree Bhat -British International School (Gold), Rajveer Gupta (British International School) Gold Bhumiksha Sharma (British International School) Gold Divya Chitrangada Shemfort Futuristic School Birpur (Gold) Cheryl Pachnanda Presentation Covent School Gandhi Nagar (Gold), Silver Medals Mehar Choudhary Heritage School (Silver) Jayani Suri British International School (Silver), Rajnandni Gupta (British International School) Silver, Anshuman Singh Jamwal Heritage School (Silver) Taarush Bamba Jodhamal Public School (Silver) Viraj Singh Heritage School Bronze Medal.
