| Caste census decision victory for Congress's fight for social justice: Suresh Dogra | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 30: Reacting to the NDA government's decision to conduct the Social and Economic Caste Census (SECC), Congress leader and former Chairman of the OBC Department of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, Adv. Suresh Dogra, termed it a major victory for the Congress party's long-standing struggle for social justice.
Adv. Dogra credited the announcement to the persistent efforts of the Congress party, especially under the leadership of Leader of the Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi. He congratulated the people of India-particularly those from weaker and marginalized sections-who have historically been deprived of their social, economic, and political rights.
Quoting Rahul Gandhi, Dogra said, "Political power should be distributed as per the population of that particular community." He added that the caste census has been a prolonged and genuine demand of the majority population of India, and thanked the Congress party and its leadership for being the driving force behind this landmark decision. |
