RAMBAN, May 5: A unique SeaShell Exhibition was today organized by the Police and District Administration Ramban here at District Police Lines Chandrog. The exhibition was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, in the presence of Senior Superintendent of Police Kulbir Singh and members of the Leaf Monkey Hiking Club which collaborated in hosting the event.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of different schools. The young visitors were sensitized by Er. Robin Koul, Varun Nagar and other organizers about the fascinating world of seashells, their origins, ecological significance, and role in marine biodiversity. The diverse collection of shells on display, ranging from rare species to artistically shaped ones, captivated the attention of the students and sparked curiosity about marine life and environmental conservation. The Deputy Commissioner, while interacting with the students, encouraged them to explore the natural world with curiosity and scientific temper. He appreciated the collaborative efforts behind the exhibition and emphasized the importance of such educational initiatives in promoting environmental awareness among youth.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the event, DC Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary said, "This exhibition is not just about showcasing natural artifacts; it is a step towards sensitizing our younger generation about the richness of biodiversity and the need to preserve it. We aim to instill a spirit of inquiry and conservation among students through such creative platforms." According to the Deputy Commissioner, the exhibition aligns with the New Education Policy-2020 under which the students are given exposure to newer things and practical knowledge.
