Desh Bhagat University students and faculty honoured under ISRO START program

MANDI GOBINDGARH, May 6: Faculty of Engineering, Technology and Computing Desh Bhagat University proudly celebrated the achievements of 132 students and 2 faculty members who sucessfully completed the ISRO Space Science and Technology Awareness Training (START) Program, conducted by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun. The felicitation ceremony was graced by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti.
Out of the total participants, seven students Mr. Ahmad Hussain, Amandeep Singh, Navjot Singh, Harman Singh, Khushi, Manisha Rani, Jatin Verma and two faculty members Dr. Gurinder Kaur Sodhi, Ms. Ravinder Kaur were awarded Merit Certificates with A+ Grade by ISRO, recognizing their outstanding performance.
During the event, Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti delivered an insightful presentation on "Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Space Technology and Applications", highlighting the emerging role of AI in advancing space research and its potential for the future.
Dr. Sadawarti also shared the significant contributions made by Desh Bhagat University in the field of space science and technology through consistent participation in national outreach programs and academic initiatives.
In a moment of pride for the university, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti was felicitated by Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur for receiving the National Award as the Best START Coordinator in India by IIRS Outreach Program, ISRO, Dehradun.
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh commended Dr. Sadawarti's visionary leadership and remarked, "This national recognition is a testament to Desh Bhagat University's growing stature in the domain of space science andtechnology. We are proud of our students, faculty, and our Vice Chancellor for bringing such honour to the institution."
The university management extended their heartfelt appreciation to all participants and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting research, innovation, and academic excellence in space sciences and technologies.
