Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 9: In an emergency press conference held today under the chairmanship of S. Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman of the Sikh United Front J&K, leading Sikh organizations strongly condemned recent acts of terrorism and expressed unwavering support for the Government of India and the Armed Forces in their actions against terrorism and Pakistan-sponsored militancy.
While addressing the media, Wazir stated that Sikhs across India and abroad stand firmly with the nation in its fight against terrorism. Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, he said, "Pakistan has repeatedly sponsored terror in Kashmir and other regions. The time has come for a befitting response."
Wazir also strongly condemned the attack on Dera Nangali Sahib in Poonch and desecration of other religious places, including mosques and temples in Nowshera and parts of Punjab. He issued a stern warning to Pakistan, emphasizing that Sikhs globally will not tolerate any attack on religious sites-especially Sikh Gurdwaras. "We have a proud history of protecting and avenging desecration of our sacred places," he said, urging Pakistan to refrain from targeting civilian areas and to adhere to the ethics of warfare.
Commending the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the united stand of all political parties in this critical hour, Wazir applauded the government's firm response. He called on all citizens-irrespective of caste, creed, or religion-to stay united, uphold India's secular fabric, and support national efforts to safeguard dignity, honor, and human lives.
In a significant appeal, Wazir urged the Government of India, especially Prime Minister Modi, to take steps toward liberating Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating that the entire nation, particularly displaced persons from PoK, awaits the fulfillment of the Parliament's unanimous resolution to reclaim the territory.
