JAMMU, May 9: In light of the emerging war-like situation and growing regional security concerns, senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu West, Arvind Gupta today visited Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu along with senior BJP leaders. The purpose of the visit was to assess the preparedness of the medical infrastructure and raise public awareness regarding safety measures in the current volatile climate.
The MLA was joined by Ex-State President Sh. Ravinder Raina, MLA Jammu East Sh. Yudhvir Sethi, former Deputy Mayor Smt. Purnima Sharma, Mandal President Kushant Prajapati, and other prominent BJP figures including Atul Bakshi, ex-corporators Surinder Singh Choudhary and Anu Bali, Chaman Lal Bhagat, Karan Sharma, Mohit Vaid, Rekha Sharma, Sonu Manhas, Sudesh Ji, and Rohit Gupta.
Arvind Gupta interacted with the hospital administration, doctors, and support staff to understand the readiness of the institution to handle any potential emergency situations that may arise due to cross-border tensions. He reviewed available medical facilities, emergency protocols, and stockpiles of essential medicines and supplies.
Speaking to media after the visit, Arvind Gupta said, "The safety and well-being of our citizens is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and ensuring that our institutions are fully prepared to respond to any eventuality. GMC Jammu plays a crucial role in our emergency response system, and I am satisfied with the efforts being made by the medical staff and administration."
The BJP delegation also emphasized the importance of staying alert, avoiding rumors, and following government advisories. They reassured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that both the state and central governments are fully committed to safeguarding their lives and property.
The visit is part of a broader initiative by the BJP leadership to review on-ground preparedness and keep the public informed amidst the evolving situation along the border.
Shri Arvind Gupta also expressed gratitude to the healthcare workers for their dedication and service, particularly during challenging times, and assured them of full support from the administration and the party leadership.
