REASI, May 12: District Police Reasi took swift action after a disturbing video surfaced on social media, showing a man mercilessly beating a minor girl in the jurisdiction of Police Station Mahore. Taking suo moto cognizance of the incident, Mahore Police registered a case against the accused, who has been identified as the father of the minor girl.
The video, which went viral on May 9, 2025, was reportedly recorded by a local resident and captured the accused assaulting his daughter over a petty issue. Recognizing the gravity of the matter and the impact of such cruelty on the child's wellbeing, Mahore Police immediately initiated legal proceedings.
An FIR bearing No. 20/2025 was registered under relevant sections of law, and the accused was promptly arrested. The minor girl, after being rescued, has been safely handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Reasi for further care and protection.
