Know the importance of education from Ambedkar's life: Balbir | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 13: Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson and former vice chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir SC, ST, BC Development Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan, emphasized that the life of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar stands as a timeless example of how education can become a powerful instrument of social transformation. He was speaking about how Dr. Ambedkar's journey continues to serve as a beacon of hope and motivation for generations, particularly for those from marginalized communities with BJP SC Morcha senior activists. Balbir highlighted that Dr. Ambedkar, born in 1891 into a socially disadvantaged Dalit family, faced severe caste-based discrimination from an early age. Despite the societal and institutional barriers placed in his path, he displayed unwavering determination to acquire education. His relentless pursuit of knowledge took him across the globe, earning doctorates from prestigious institutions such as Columbia University and the London School of Economics. This was an extraordinary accomplishment at the time, especially for someone coming from a background that was largely denied access to even basic education. He added that Dr. Ambedkar did not view education merely as a means of personal advancement. Instead, he used his education as a tool to fight for justice, equality, and the rights of millions of oppressed people. Having a deep understanding of law, economics, and political science, Ambedkar played a crucial role in framing the Constitution of India and laying the foundations for the nation's democratic and inclusive governance. "Education was not just a personal achievement for him-it was his weapon against injustice," Balbir said. He underlined that Dr. Ambedkar believed that knowledge could dismantle centuries-old structures of oppression and replace them with systems based on fairness, dignity, and opportunity for all. Balbir further stated that Ambedkar's life story serves as a powerful reminder that access to education can change destinies-not just of individuals, but of entire communities. He urged youth, particularly those from marginalized sections of society, to draw inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar's life and to recognize education as the key to empowerment and social reform. Balbir was speaking on the sugnificance of education in Anbedkar's life with the senior activists of BJP SC Morcha including G. R. Bhagat, Hans Raj Loria, Jagdish Raj Kaith, Girdhari Kal Dogra and others. |
