5/13/2025 10:06:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 13: In a proactive move addressing growing public grievances, MLA Bahu Constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, conducted a surprise inspection at the Public Health Engineering (PHE) pumping station in Sainik Colony today. The visit was prompted by a surge in complaints from residents of Chowadhi, Chatha, and Sunjwan over irregular water supply and departmental negligence. During the inspection, MLA Randhawa thoroughly examined the operational status of pumping machinery, reviewed maintenance logs, and interacted directly with the staff on duty to evaluate the on-ground functioning of the facility. Residents from surrounding localities have been voicing concerns over erratic water supply, frequent pump malfunctions, poor water pressure-especially during peak hours-and sluggish response to complaints.
"Residents are facing immense hardship, particularly during this summer season. Access to clean and reliable water is a fundamental right and must not be compromised," said Randhawa while addressing the media. "I have issued strict directives to the department to resolve these issues without delay and to keep the public informed on progress." The MLA further emphasized that such inspections will continue to ensure accountability and efficiency within the department. He assured citizens that any negligence or lapses discovered would be dealt with sternly.
Randhawa reaffirmed his dedication to improving civic amenities in the Bahu constituency and committed to acting swiftly on issues affecting public welfare.
