Early Times Report AKHNOOR, May 15: As part of its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking under Operation Sanjeevani, the Jammu Police have achieved a significant breakthrough in Akhnoor by arresting a drug peddler and recovering a heroin-like substance from his possession. On the evening of May 14, a team from Police Station Akhnoor, while conducting routine naka checking at Old Bridge Nakka, intercepted a suspicious individual. A thorough search led to the recovery of approximately 10 grams of a heroin-like substance. The accused has been identified as Ghulam Abbas, son of Late Mohd. Bashir, resident of Katar Mal, Tehsil Manjakot, District Rajouri. A case has been registered under FIR No. 97/2025 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Akhnoor. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway to trace the source, supply chain, and potential network connections.
