SJVN commences Swachhta Pakhwada 2025 across all projects and offices

SHIMLA, May 16: SJVN has marked the commencement of Swachhta Pakhwada 2025 across all its projects and offices by administering the Swachhta Pledge to its employees. The Pakhwada will be observed from 16th to 31st May 2025, with a series of cleanliness and awareness activities planned throughout the fortnight.
The Swachhta Pledge was administered by Sh. Bhupender Gupta, CMD, SJVN (Addl Charge) at SJVN Office, New Delhi reaffirming the organization's unwavering commitment to a clean and green environment. On this occasion, Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), Sh. Pawan Varma, ED (HR) along with other senior officials, were also present to support the initiative.
Bhupender Gupta, CMD, SJVN (Addl Charge) emphasized the vital role of individual responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He urged employees to take proactive steps in supporting cleanliness initiatives, not only at the workplace but also in surrounding communities.
At Corporate Headquarters Shimla, Swachhta Pledge was administered by Sh. Chandra Shekhar Yadav, ED/HoD (HR) to the employees while in other project locations, it was led by respective Heads of Projects and Stations.
In line with the directives of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, SJVN has been organizing Swachhta Pakhwada annually since 2016. During the event, SJVN employees, in collaboration with local communities, participate in cleanliness drives, awareness programs and other related activities.
Swachhta Pakhwada focuses on intensive sanitation and cleanliness efforts across the ecosystem associated with SJVN's area of work. Swachhta Pakhwada Action Plan 2025 includes Cleanliness Drives at prominent public locations, maintenance of girls toilets in schools as Cleanliness Target Units, Shramdan by employees in surrounding areas, Special awareness campaigns to discourage plastic use and promote eco-friendly alternatives, Establishment of Office Waste Paper Recycling Mechanisms, Community plantation drives, Clean-up campaigns along rivers near SJVN projects, Workshops, Swachhta Exhibitions, Expert Talks, and Nukkad Natak, Special campaigns on Solid & Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) and Vermicomposting etc.
Through these initiatives, SJVN reaffirms its strong commitment to foster a culture of cleanliness and sustainability.
