DC Rajouri visits border villages; Assures assistance to shelling-affected families

RAJOURI, May 18: In a compassionate outreach to the border residents, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma visited shelling hit villages of Lam, Laroka, and Qila Darhal to assess the ground situation and interacted with the affected families.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner took firsthand stock of the damage caused to residential properties and other assets. While expressing solidarity with the affected persons, he assured them that the District Administration stands firmly with them in this hour of need.
He directed the field functionaries to expedite the assessment of damages to private property so that relief and compensation can be provided to the affected as per the norms.
"The safety and well-being of border residents is our top priority. All possible support will be provided to the affected families," the DC assured.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Pritam Lal Thapa, along with officers from Revenue, Police, and other concerned departments, accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
The Deputy Commissioner also reiterated the commitment of the administration to maintain continuous coordination with the security forces and other stakeholders to ensure the safety and timely support to the border population.
