MAHANPUR, May 22: The Department of Environmental Sciences at GDC Mahanpur, in collaboration with the Eco Club and Seminar/Webinar Committee, celebrated International Biological Diversity Day on the theme "Harmony with Nature and Sustainable Development." The event was held under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, who also served as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of protecting biodiversity.
Dr. Raj Kumar Rampal, former Dean Life Sciences and HOD Environmental Science, University of Jammu, delivered the keynote address. He spoke on biodiversity conservation and its link to sustainable development, giving students valuable insights into global strategies and environmental goals.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Nishu (HoD EVS), Dr. Mohinder Nath Sharma (Eco Club Convener), and Ms. Nisha Bhagat (Seminar Committee Convener). Over 50 students participated in expert talks and interactive sessions.
