SJVN Signs Power Sale Agreement with DVC for Arun-III HEP

SHIMLA, May 23: SJVN signed Power Sale Agreement (PSA) with Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for supply of power from its 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project at New Delhi. Quantum of electricity committed under this PSA is 200 MW. The PSA was signed in august presence of Sh. Bhupender Gupta, CMD, (Addl. Charge), Sh. Sushil Sharma, Director (Projects), Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel) from SJVN and Sh. Sanjeev Srivastava, ED from DVC. The agreement was signed by Sh. R.K. Gupta, Chief General Manager (Power Trading), SJVN and Sh. Samit Mandal, Senior General Manager (Commercial), DVC. On this occasion, senior officials from SJVN and DVC were also present.
The 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project is being developed by SJVN in Sankhuwasabha District of Nepal through its fully owned subsidiary SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd. (SAPDC). On commissioning, project will generate 900 MW of clean energy and is expected to play a vital role in meeting nation's growing power demands. The project is expected to be commissioned by FY 2027-28.
SAPDC is a significant collaboration between India & Nepal and it aims to enhance regional energy security and boost economic development through sustainable hydro power generation in Arun River Basin.
