CBC Jammu organises workshop to promote Rajbhasha

JAMMU, May 23: Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Regional Office, Jammu today organized a day-long workshop which was aimed at promotion of Rajbhasha within the office and its Field units. The workshop titled 'National Language Hindi- Challenges and Scope' was organized under the chairmanship of Sh. Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC , J&K and Ladakh in the presence of Ms. Ayushi Puri, Deputy Director, CBC, J&K, Ladakh, Sh. Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Sr. Accounts Officer, Sh. O.P. Maurya, Administrative Officer, CBC, J&K, heads of CBC Field Offices Kathua, Doda and Poonch and other staff members of CBC R.O. Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Parshotam Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Hindi, University of Jammu said Hindi is the language of the masses since time immemorial. He said Hindi speakers should take pride of the language, which is full of richness. He enlightened the participants about the development, scope, relevance and Acts for the promotion of the Hindi Language. He also highlighted the challenges faced in making the language more popular after globalization. He informed the participants that software programmes are now available for working in Hindi as well as translation of content from any language into Rajbhasha.
In his address, Ghulam Abbas, Director CBC said that working in Hindi language should make one feel proud. He encouraged the officers and officials of CBC J&K to do official correspondence in Hindi language as much as possible.
The workshop commenced with the welcome address by Ms. Ayushi Puri, Deputy Director. She familiarised the participants with the working and organizational setup of CBC.
O.P. Maurya, Administrative Officer also addressed the gathering. He highlighted the work done and achievements of CBC Staff related to Hindi training. He also informed about the incentives available for those who get training in Hindi.
The workshop concluded with the Vote of Thanks presented by Sh. Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Sr. Accounts officer. Sh. Rajesh Sharma and Sh. Kudeep Mina also spoke during the workshop.
