Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu inaugurated the Capacity Building Program (Batch-3) for officials of the Finance and Planning & Monitoring Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, at the Vivekananda Classroom, Jagti Campus. This program, organized under the Centre for Innovation and Transformation in Governance (CITaG), is a flagship initiative of the Planning Development & Monitoring Department, aimed at driving transformational governance in the region. The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and commitment to governance excellence. Shri Talat Parvez Rohella, IAS, Secretary, Planning Development and Monitoring Department, and Shri Madan Gopal Sharma, Director, Planning, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, presided over the inauguration through an online session. The ceremony was graced by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu. The training program engages 111 officials from Jammu and Kashmir's Finance and Planning & Monitoring Department. It is designed to equip them with advanced IT tools, innovative governance models, and practical experience through case studies and live projects to foster data-driven decision-making and enhance institutional capacity. Shri Talat Parvez Rohella emphasized the role of CITaG in integrating data analytics, artificial intelligence, and innovative governance techniques under the "Future Ready Governance" initiative. He expressed confidence that this program would catalyse transformative governance changes, paving the way for a developed Jammu and Kashmir. Shri Madan Gopal Sharma welcomed the third batch of participants and encouraged them to leverage the three-day program for maximum benefit, highlighting the evolving curriculum's relevance to contemporary governance challenges.
