Jammu, May 26: Central Bureau of Investigation/Anticorruption Bureau booked Rohit Sharma then Tehsildar Bahu in Disproportionate Assets case.
According to the FIR that a reliable source information received that Rohit Sharma has acquired huge assets, both movable and immovable, in his name and in the name of his family members during from 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022, which are disproportionate to his known sources of income. It is further revealed that the suspect Rohit Sharma amassed huge assets from 2020 onwards. Hence, check period is taken as 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022. It is also revealed that Rohit Sharma acquired assets in the name of his wife Shavi and other family members and relatives during said check period in the form of Land/jewellery etc.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Rohit Sharma was appointed as NaibTehsildar in the pay grade of 6500 + 10500 (pre- revised) vide financial Commissioner J&K Govt. Order no. FC(A) 66 of 2010 dated 30.04.2010 and joined Revenue Training Institute, Jammu on 30.04.2010 for Revenue Training Course. He has been transferred and posted at various places during the period 2010 to 2020 as NaibTehsildar/ Tehsildar/ L/A Tehsildar viz Revenue training Institute Gole Gujral, Jammu. He was posted as Tehsildar, Bahu, District Jammu from 20.03.2020 till trap was conducted by the Anti Corruption Bureau, UT of J&K on 14.11.2022. It is further revealed that his permanent address is Vill. Nikkian P/o Khour, Tehsil - Akhnoor, Distt - Jammu.
Details of Assets acquired during the check period:- Statement -A Assets at the beginning of check period i.e. as on 01.01.2020. Rs.14,35.388, Statement -B Assets at the end of the check period on 14.11.2022. Rs.1,30,68,091 Assets acquired during check period i.e. E = B-A Assets acquired during the check period i.e. 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022 Rs.1,16.32,703, Statement -C Statement of Income earned during the check period i.e. 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022 Rs.65,45.206, Statement-D Statement of expenditure incurred during the check period i.e. 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022 Rs.82,51,960, Likely Saving during the check period i.e. F = C-D Likely Saving during the check period i.e. 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022 Rs.(-17,06,754), DA = E-F DA = E-F Rs.1,33,39,457 = DA % DAX 100 / Income 203.80%.
The above facts reveal that Shri Rohit Sharma intentionally has enriched himself illicitly during the period of his office i.e. check period of 01.01.2020 to 14.11.2022. It is revealed that said Shri Rohit Sharma is found to be in possession of pecuniary resources or property disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs 1.33,39,457/- (203.80%), which the above public servant cannot satisfactorily account for. Hence, a Regular Case is registered against the then Tehsildar Bahu Rohit Sharma, S/o Shri Ashok Kumar Presently residing at Khasra No. 991 Min, Khata No. 42 and Khewat No.08, Village-Chowadhi, Tehsil-Bahu, District Jammu and entrusted to Sushil Kumar, DSP, CBI, ACB, Jammu for investigation.
