Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO), Jammu, inaugurated a vibrant series of Inter-Zonal District Level Competitions today, drawing over 350 student participants from government and private schools across Jammu district. The opening event of football competitions took place at Parade Ground, while badminton, table tennis (U/14 & U/17 boys), yoga (U/14 & U/17 boys), and gymnastics (U/14 girls) got underway at the Indoor Complex, M.A. Stadium. These competitions are being held under the patronage of Director General YSS J&K UT, Sh. Rajinder Singh Tara (JKAS) and under the supervision of Deputy Director Central, Sh. Jetinder Mishra (JKAS), Joint Director Ved Parkash (JKAS), and DYSSO Jammu, Sh. Sukhdev Raj Sharma. The organizing team also includes Accounts Officer Sh. Sunil Kumar Sharma, ZPEOs Ram Murti (Gandhi Nagar), Jatinder Kour (Satwari), and Harvinder Kour (Jammu), supported by Sh. Harvinder Singh Sodi, overseeing the events. Speaking on the occasion, DYSSO Jammu Sh. Sukhdev Raj Sharma congratulated the participating students and encouraged them to pursue sports with passion and dedication to enhance their physical and mental well-being. Results - Day 1 Highlights: Artistic Gymnastics (U/14 Girls): Somya Manya Shivanshi Rhythmic Gymnastics (U/14 Girls): Kalayani Jasmeh Shagun Table Tennis (U/14 Boys): Zone Jammu defeated Zone Gandhi Nagar by 3-0 Table Tennis (U/17 Boys): Zone Jammu beat Zone Gandhi Nagar 3-1 Yoga (U/14 Boys): Diyan Thakur Akash Kumar Diyan Sharma Badminton (U/14 Boys): Zone Gandhi Nagar edged out Zone Satwari by 2-1 These competitions are being managed by expert officials of the department including Sh. Mayank Jain, Smt. Neeru Jabila, Honey Mehra, Sh. Kamal Rana, Sh. Rajesh Bandral, Sh. Ajay Kumar, Smt. Harvinder Kour, Sh. Varinder Singh, and other technical staff. The multi-sport event not only provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills but also fosters a spirit of teamwork and healthy competition. More events are scheduled in the coming days as part of the district-level calendar.
