SUNDERBANI, May 27: In a commendable initiative aimed at fostering environmental consciousness among students and the local community, Government Degree College (GDC) Sunderbani, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Vandana Verma, organized a Plantation Drive on campus today.
The event was spearheaded by the Eco-Club of GDC Sunderbani and saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and local volunteers. Dozens of saplings, including indigenous and environment-friendly species, were planted across the campus premises.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vandana Verma emphasized the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring a sustainable future. "This initiative not only enhances the green cover of our college but also instills a sense of ecological responsibility among our youth," she stated.
Members of the Eco-Club coordinated the event seamlessly, ensuring that the activity was both educational and impactful. The club also distributed informative pamphlets on the benefits of tree planting and environmental conservation.
