 Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 27: Apart from the Army and the Air Force, the Border Security Force (BSF) has also dealt a significant blow to Pakistan’s terror infrastructure, destroying 72 enemy posts, including the notorious Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) launch pad in Looni, during Operation Sindoor. The operation, initiated in response to Pakistani shelling along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) after May 7, targeted multiple terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Inspector General (BSF Jammu Frontier) Shashank Anand, addressing the media, revealed that the BSF was prepared for Pakistan’s retaliatory attacks following the May 7 operation. “Our troops responded decisively, destroying 72 Pakistani posts and 47 forward positions, including towers and bunkers, without any loss to our infrastructure,” Anand stated. On the night of May 9-10, the BSF executed a meticulously planned two-phase strike on the LeT launch pad in Looni, located just 3 kilometers from the LoC. Acting on intelligence about 18–20 terrorists planning infiltrations under cover of cross-border firing, the BSF inflicted heavy damage on Pakistani positions while sustaining no losses of its own.

The operation was not without sacrifice. BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammad Imtiaz, Constable Deepak Kumar, and Indian Army Naik Sunil Kumar lost their lives in a drone attack and shelling by Pakistan. Anand announced plans to propose naming two BSF posts after the fallen personnel and designating one post as “Sindoor” in honor of the operation. Emphasizing the need for sustained alertness, Anand warned that Pakistan’s untrustworthy nature could lead to further cross-border firing or infiltration attempts. “Operation Sindoor is ongoing, and the BSF remains on high alert along the International Border. We are deploying robust surveillance systems to ensure maximum vigilance,” he said, underscoring the force’s commitment to thwarting any threats. The BSF’s actions in Operation Sindoor highlight its resolve to counter Pakistan’s provocations while maintaining a strong defensive posture along the border. |
