Amit Shah's upcoming visit reinforces National Security & support to Poonch's shelling victims: Kavinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 27: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta has welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah's upcoming visit to Jammu and Poonch on May 29 and 30, emphasizing its significance in reinforcing national security and providing aid to those affected by recent cross-border shelling. In a pres release issued here today, the BJP stalwart said, "Home Minister Amit Shah's visit underscores the Centre's unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of Jammu and Kashmir. His presence will not only bolster the morale of our security forces but also offer much-needed support to the civilians who have suffered losses due to the recent shelling from across the border." The visit comes in the wake of intensified hostilities along the Line of Control, with Pakistani shelling resulting in the deaths of 13 civilians and injuries to over 50 others in Poonch district. The affected areas have witnessed significant damage to homes, schools, and places of worship. In response, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor, targeting militant camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The operation led to the destruction of several Pakistani posts within minutes, sending a strong message against targeting civilians . Kavinder said, "The Centre is actively coordinating with the Jammu and Kashmir government to formulate a comprehensive relief package for the affected families. This initiative aims to expedite the reconstruction of damaged homes and provide financial assistance to those in need." The senior BJP leader said that the Home Minister's visit is expected to include a security review in Jammu, followed by a visit to the shelling-affected areas in Poonch, where Amit Shah is anticipated to meet with the victims and assess the ground situation. Kavinder said that this visit reaffirms the Central government's resolve to ensure peace and stability in the region and to stand in solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir during these challenging times." |
