Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 27: Adv Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, today hailed the holding of a special cabinet meeting in Pahalgam under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as a bold and reassuring move that underlines the government's unwavering resolve to defeat terror and restore normalcy in the Valley.
"This landmark cabinet meeting in Pahalgam is not just a routine administrative exercise-it is a powerful message to the people of the country that Jammu and Kashmir stands united, undeterred, and determined to reclaim its rightful place as a symbol of peace, hospitality, and resilience," the senior NC leader said in a statement issued here today. Rattan Lal emphasized that the return of high-level government activity to Pahalgam is a strong indicator that normalcy is not only returning but is being reclaimed with pride and purpose. "The streets of Pahalgam are open, its markets are active, and its people are ready to welcome visitors with open arms. Pahalgam is safe, and it is ready," he said.
The senior NC leader said that the present dispensation headed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to revive the tourism sector with the support of the central government. "Tourism is the lifeline of our economy and the heart of our cultural identity. The government's call for PSUs to hold meetings in Kashmir and to bring parliamentary committees in Kashmir will go a long way in restoring confidence among stakeholders and tourists alike."
