Early Times Report JAMMU, May 28: The NSS Units, Department of Environmental Sciences, GGM Science College Jammu, in collaboration with the Prithibhaya-Vedantsara Foundation (NGO), organized an Awareness Camp on Menstrual Hygiene along with a Sanitary Pad Donation Drive at Maratha Mohalla, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. This community outreach initiative was aimed to raise awareness about menstrual health and hygiene while ensuring access to essential sanitary products for underprivileged women and girls. The event was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GGM Science College, Jammu. He commended students, faculty, and NGO partners for leading this impactful effort. The camp included informative sessions, interactive discussions, and free distribution of sanitary pads, promoting open dialogue and helping break societal taboos associated with menstruation. Dr. Rahul kait and Dr. Neha Sharma NSS Programme Officer and Prof. Poonam Kundan, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, GGM Science College visited the community to carry out awareness camp. The faculty emphasized the importance of menstrual hygiene in ensuring women's health, dignity, and equality, especially in underserved communities. The NSS volunteers supported faculty members in delivering talks and managing group activities, playing a vital role in engaging community. |
