Early Times Report REASI, May 28: Continuing its special drive against the menace of bovine smuggling, Reasi Police successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines at Nau Devian Naka today. During routine naka checking at Nau Devian, a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number JK11E-7954, en route from Reasi towards Katra, was stopped for checking. However, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, leaving it at the naka point. Upon inspection, 07 bovines were found cruelly loaded in the vehicle, being transported illegally without the mandatory permission from the District Magistrate. Taking cognizance of the matter, an FIR has been registered at Police Station Katra under Case FIR No. 152/2025 U/S 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act. The vehicle has been seized and further investigation is underway to identify and arrest the absconding accused. The whole operation led by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS. Reasi Police, under the close supervision of SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against bovine smuggling and remains committed to eradicating this unlawful practice from the district. The public is urged to cooperate and report any suspicious activities related to bovine smuggling to the nearest police station. |
