Early Times Report JAMMU, May 28: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Jammu (Samba)-PDUNIPPD, New Delhi under DEPWD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MOSJE), Govt. of India, in collaboration with Ayush Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu, today observed World Schizophrenia Day by organizing an awareness session to promote understanding and reduce stigma around schizophrenia and mental health. The key highlight of the event was an interactive and informative session on Schizophrenia, delivered by Dr. Aijaz Bhat, Assistant Professor, Clinical Psychology (Consultant), CRC Jammu. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Management, Faculty Members, Medical Officers and Trainees of Ayush Ayurvedic Hospital. Dr. Bhat's engaging presentation and in-depth insights into schizophrenia fostered active discussion and a deeper understanding among attendees. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the Director, CRC Jammu (Samba). Two other staff members from CRC Jammu, Mr. Rahul Singh (Rehabilitation Officer) and Mr. Neeraj Singh (Orientation and Mobility Instructor), also participated and contributed to the session. More than 50 participants attended the event, making it a successful outreach initiative for mental health awareness. The session was graced by Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent and Dr. Aruna Bhat, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Ayush Ayurvedic Hospital. Both dignitaries appreciated the efforts of CRC Jammu (Samba) and applauded Dr. Bhat's presentation. They expressed keen interest in organizing more such sessions in the future to address various aspects of mental health. The event concluded on a highly positive note, with participants expressing great satisfaction and providing encouraging feedback about the session. |
