NEW DELHI, May 28: In a significant step towards empowering women and adolescent girls through better menstrual hygiene awareness, FICCI FLO (the women's wing of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NIINE Pvt. Ltd., a leading social enterprise committed to menstrual health and hygiene. The MOU was formally signed on Menstrual Hygiene Day, May 28, 2025, at the FICCI Headquarters in New Delhi.
The agreement was signed by Ms. Poonam Sharma, 42nd National President of FICCI FLO, and Mr. Atul Gupta, Lead - CSR at NIINE Pvt. Ltd, in the presence of Ms Rashmi Sarita, Executive Director FLO & Varuna Anand.
The MOU has been a result of sustained efforts and collaboration, initiated by Ms. Varuna Anand, National Initiative Head - Partnerships & Collaborations, FICCI FLO.
The collaboration aims to launch impactful programs and grassroots campaigns across FLO's 20 chapters, focusing on spreading awareness, promoting sustainable menstrual practices, and improving access to affordable hygiene products. With this partnership, FLO and NIINE will work jointly to reach out to underprivileged communities, organize educational workshops, and facilitate better health outcomes for women and girls across India.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Poonam Sharma emphasized, "Menstrual health is not just a hygiene issue but a fundamental human rights issue. With this partnership, we hope to break taboos, raise awareness, and create safe and inclusive spaces for conversations around menstruation."
Atul Gupta shared, "At NIINE, we believe in bridging the gap in menstrual hygiene through sustainable and impactful CSR. This collaboration with FICCI FLO marks an important milestone in extending our reach and driving real change where it's most needed."
Varuna Anand added, "This MOU reflects FLO's ongoing commitment to forming meaningful partnerships that enable social transformation. Together with NIINE, we aim to drive a positive narrative around menstrual hygiene and ensure better health outcomes for women."
This partnership reinforces FICCI FLO's mission to foster women's empowerment and health, while supporting NIINE's vision of making menstrual hygiene accessible, acceptable, and affordable for every woman in India.
