| Indian Army organizes cleanliness drive for healthy life | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 29: With the aim to increase awareness about personal hygiene, sanitation and healthy life amongst people residing in remote areas, Indian Army organised a Cleanliness Drive for Healthy Life on 29 May 2025 at Dera Ki Gali. During this event, an awareness lecture was also conducted to increase awareness amongst the children, youth and local populace residing in remote areas regarding various diseases and their symptoms alongwith pro–active measures and also to emphasize on importance of good eating habits, balanced diet plan and maintaining personal hygiene and sanitation to increase happiness quotient amongst the gathering. On this occasion, all personnel took a pledge to ensure cleanliness of their homes, workplace and surrounding areas.
The mission emphasised on promoting good hygiene practices, strengthen solid and liquid waste management system and enhance community engagement and social mobilization. The event witnessed huge participation with volunteers from all sections of society including school children, women and social activists. A total of 20 locals attended the event. This gesture and effort by the Indian Army was highly appreciated by AWAM. This endeavour by Army to reach out to the population residing in remote areas, where civil administration has limited accessibility, will go a long way in developing and strengthening trust between JAWAN and AWAM. The event also served as a platform to strengthen the bond between Army and the people of this region. It also showcased Army’s commitment towards service to the nation. |
