According to the crime branch the applicant Jameel Anjum S/o Nasir Ahmad R/o Ustad Mohalla Jammu has been arrested, was registered on the written complainant of Rashid Manhas S/o Sajed Khan R/o Gujjar Nagar Jammu wherein he alleged that the accused person duped him of Rs 10 lakh cash and Gold ornaments worth Rs 5.0 lakh on the pretext of providing govt. jobs to the complainant and his sister. The accused prepared fake/false appointment orders and provided to the complainant alluring the complainant saying that there were certain vacancies in Excise, CAPD & Education department for which the government was planning to appoint candidates having graduation degrees mostly from the families having no one in government services and belonging to middle class strata. Special Municipal Magistrate Jammu Rajni Bhagat after hearing APP Ashwani Kumar for the UT whereas Adv Dinesh Verma for the applicant, observed that The accused Jameel Anjum Mir has moved the present application seeking regular bail in FIR No. 16/2025 registered at Police Station Crime Branch EOW, Jammu for offences punishable under Sections 420,465,467,468,471, and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code. Perusal of the material on record reveals that the accused is involved in a well-orchestrated criminal conspiracy whereby he impersonated himself as a person with high-level connections in the Civil Secretariat and Education Department. He deceitfully induced the complainant and his family into paying huge amounts of money on the false assurance of providing government jobs. Forged appointment letters and other fabricated documents were supplied to bolster the deceit The material collected during investigation prima facie indicates that the accused is not only a repeated offender but has made crime a profession, having more than ten FIRs registered against him on similar allegations. Furthermore, the investigation is at a crucial stage, where recovery of forged documents, identification of co-accused, and seizure of electronic gadgets used for fabrication of fake appointment letters is still underway. Granting bail at this juncture may result in tampering with evidence and influencing the witnesses. In view of the serious nature of allegations, the habitual conduct of the accused, and in light of the bar under Section 437(1) CrPC, this Court is of the considered opinion that no case is made out by applicant/accused for grant of bail at this stage. This application therefore has no merit and is dismissed as such. (JNF) |
