JAMMU, June 4: Introducing the theme of market inspections the Enforcement Officers/ Officials of Drugs and Food Control Organisation jammu entrusted with the duties including the Constituted teams at each Block, District and Division level instructed the FBO'S to maintain Hygienic practices, Cleanliness & Sanitation ,prevent profiteering viz a viz to refrain from pouring & pushing the products of inferior qaulity in the market ,the teams cautioned all the FBO'S that necessary action whichever be deemed fit shall be initiated againt the defaulters & wrong doers .Meanwhile, 22 improvisation notices were issued to erring FBO'S under the FSS Act for violating norms of Hygiene & its critical parameters and during the extensive campaign more than *03 Quintals* unfit fruits and vegetables and cut /exposed fruits were destroyed on the spot accross the Division and *08 legal Samples* of different categories were lifted for analysis ,the teams carried out *123 inspections* *challaned 43 erring FBOs under Section 56 & 58 and under Section 69 imposed fine of Rs.10,000 & in the terms legal samples offences committed thereunder Rs 3000 fine imposed*the teams inspected the establishments of meat ,poultry, sweets,backery products ,groceries, restaurants where *32Awareness Programmes* were conducted accross the Division on overall implementation of the Act and through *MFTV* FBOs were exclusively demanstrated & awareness regarding using non usage of unpermitted colours, transfats (20%)& mono sodium glutamate for prep.of momos & other relevant malpractices.The leading health Hazards & side effects were highlighted amongst the fraternities. All the traders dealing with essential commodities were instructed to follow guidelines of packing & labelling laid down under the Act & were advised to keep sufficient /safe quantity of consumbles to the public especially on the Day of *Eid-ul-Azha* so that.the main objective of Food Safety will act as a glittering milestone for the countrymen & coming Generations.At all quaters the Departments *toll free no.104* was publicisd by the Enforcement officers for Consumer Safety and redressal of grievances
