World Environment Day Celebrated with Cleanliness, Plantation Drive | | | Early times report
Katra, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Dr. Alka Misra, JKAS, Assistant Director Tourism, Katra, along with officials from the Tourist Office Katra, led a cleanliness and sanitation drive at the sacred Bhoomika Temple in Katra. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and community participation in maintaining hygiene at religious sites. A plantation drive was also conducted within the temple premises to encourage green practices and highlight the importance of environmental sustainability. Volunteers and officials actively participated in collecting plastic waste from the area, reinforcing the harmful effects of plastic on nature. A strong message was delivered to the public: “Say No to Plastic – It is Harmful to Nature and Future Generations.” The drive emphasized the importance of preserving the environment for the well-being of future generations and maintaining the sanctity of holy places.
