Early Times Report MAJALTA, June 5: In a vibrant initiative to mark World Environment Day 2025, Government Degree College (GDC) Majalta organized a plantation drive under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma, Principal of the college. The event, held on June 5, 2025, was coordinated by Dr. Dalip Kumar, Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the college. The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 50 students, who came together to contribute to a greener and more sustainable environment. The event underscored the college's commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement. The Department of Social Forestry, Majalta, Udhampur, extended invaluable support by providing plants and labor for pit digging, ensuring the smooth execution of the drive. The college expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Divisional Forest Officer, Department of Social Forestry, Udhampur for their generous assistance. The program was graced by the presence of esteemed Principal GDC Jindrah, Dr Kuldeep Kumar Sharma and distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Kamal Jeet, Prof. Naresh Kumar, and Mr. Vinod Kumar who actively supported the initiative.
