JAMMU, June 5: The IGNOU Regional Centre, Jammu, today celebrated World Environment Day by organizing a national-level Webinar on the theme "Environment Sustainability and Climate Change-Present scenario." Prof. Krishan Kumar, Professor, SES, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi was the Keynote speaker on the occasion. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from learners, academic counsellors, and academicians across the country, reaffirming the commitment to environmental sustainability.
The webinar commenced with a brief overview of the importance of World Environment Day, emphasizing the collective role of citizens to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. The session formally began with an introduction of the resource person, Prof. Krishan Kumar, Professor, SES, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
The introduction and significance of the webinar was presented by Dr. Asha Upadhya, Assistant Regional Director (ARD), IGNOU RC Jammu. It was followed by a formal welcome of the resource person and the participants by the Regional Director, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, IGNOU RC Jammu, highlighting the continued support in environmental and community initiatives by the Regional Centre Jammu.
