Early Times Report JAMMU, June 5: As the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji, prepares to inaugurate the Katra-Srinagar rail link, the Tourism Federation Jammu and other stakeholders are urging him to highlight the immense tourism potential of the Jammu region during his inaugural address. The Jammu region, known for its unwavering nationalism and spiritual heritage, boasts a wide range of tourism treasures, including powerful pilgrimage destinations like Shri Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra, Kausernag, Machail Mata in Padder Kishtwar, and Buddha Amarnath in Poonch. The region's natural beauty, diversity, and peaceful atmosphere make it an ideal destination for domestic and international tourism. Despite its immense potential, the Jammu region has been largely overlooked in recent tourism promotion efforts, with the majority of focus being on the Kashmir Valley. The stakeholders believe that a mention from the Hon'ble Prime Minister would not only uplift the spirit of the people of Jammu but also serve as a catalyst for greater national attention, tourism inflow, and economic opportunities for the region. "We humbly request the Hon'ble Prime Minister to kindly highlight the immense tourism potential of the Jammu region in his upcoming address," said Rajesh Gupta, President of the Tourism Federation Jammu. "A clear and public endorsement from his esteemed platform would mean the world to us and help position the region rightfully as a secure, vibrant, and multi-dimensional tourism destination on the national and global map." The Tourism Federation Jammu is joined in this request by several other organizations, including Associations of Domestic Tour Operators Jammu, Jammu Association of Tour Operators, Jammu Kashmir Ladakh Tourism Development Cooperative, Jammu Pariyatan Vikas Cooperative Limited, Association of Religious Tour Operator (Katra), Bhaderwah Patnitop Travel Trade Association, Adventure Tour Operator Association of Jammu, and Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Vikas Council. |
