A new chapter of socio-economic development and progress will begin on Friday with the train run to Kashmir. This dream project called USBRL was realised today with the commissioning of the train services from Katra to Baramulla. The railways will take people of Kashmir closer to India and will shorten the distance and travel time significantly. It is noteworthy that people will travel safely in all weathers from Katra to Baramulla in only four hours and is it not less than a miracle. Modi government needs a salute and commendation for this people oriented and growth oriented Railway project commissioning. It will also lead to industrial, economic, cultural development and growth. Investment activity will be boosted and will get momentum. Besides, socio-economic development, there will be cultural exchanges and development because of the railway connectivity. The railways will open flood gates of investment and it will be a big favour for the educated, skilled, semi -skilled and even unskilled youth of Kashmir. The railway will help in the job creation in Kashmir and therefore the railway commissioning to Kashmir has been welcomed and embraced by the Kashmiris. The railways will bridge the psychological and superficial barriers between Kashmir and rest of India. Rail connectivity will bring prosperity and this historic railway line will unlock the potential of Jammu and Kashmir and bring unprecedented economic growth in remote areas. It will also led to all inclusive development of Jammu and Kashmir and the end beneficiaries will be the people of J&K. With the commissioning of the railway from Katra to Baramulla Kashmir will begin a new chapter of the development of Jammu and Kashmir and PM Modi is personally more concerned with the socio-economic and cultural development of Jammu and Kashmir. The Rail Project worth Rs 43,780 crores connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari is an engineering excellence and marvel and it will modify and the economic and social destiny of Jammu and Kashmir. The railway line to Kashmir will boost tourist economy and will significantly increase the tourist and pilgrim tourist footfall and all this will enhance the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir. What was once a vision proposed by Dogra ruler Maharaja Pratap Singh in 19th century is now transforming into one of the most significant infrastructure advancements in independent India’s history. Vikramaditya Singh grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh and son of former Sadr-e-Riyasat Dr Karan Singh said he feels proud that the Dogra ruler’s plan conceived over 130 years ago has finally materialised. LG Manoj Sinha has rightly said that PM Modi has created an inclusive and vibrant future for Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that under the leadership of Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has a new dynamism in every sector and inclusive growth has ensured that no section of society is left behind. The years old wait of people will come to end on Friday when PM Modi will flag off first train to Kashmir and it is historical development indeed and it will create opportunities for employment generation and will ensure mobility of labour. The train will offer a swift, comfortable, reliable and all weather travel option for residents, tourists, pilgrims among others. It is hoped that the train connectivity will besides connecting people of Kashmir to India also usher socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir and the whole scenario of development will get boost. It will also result in the increase of the living standards of the people. The railways will bring the people of Kashmir closer to the people of rest of India and it will result in trade, cultural exchange and educational and technological development in J&K. Railways will boost trade, tourism and industrial growth in Jammu and Kashmir. During harsh winters, when road closures disrupt transport, railways will provide a reliable alternative, reducing dependence on costly air transport. Moreover, during rains, the Jammu and Kashmir highway often remains unfit for vehicles and so railway will provide a safer and quicker means of transport and will benefit people, traders, tourists, travel agents, taxi operators and many others. The railways will fetch a market for the products of Jammu and Kashmir. The railway mode of transport has been around for over two centuries and has served as the fabric of many countries transportation systems. But Kashmir was aloof from rail transport from Jammu to Kashmir but now with the dedicating of the railway to Kashmir from Katra PM Modi has given birth to a transport revolution. The main benefits of Railway transport are as under---A-It is cost effective mode of transport compared to other modes of transport. B—Rail transport is one of the most environmentally friendly form of travel, as trains emit fewer greenhouse gases than land and air transport. C-Trains has a high carrying capacity. It enables more cargo to be carried at one time. D—Rali transport is known for reliability. Trains operate on a fixed schedule to ensure goods or passengers arrive on time. E—Railways is the safest mode of transport. F-Railways reduce traffic congestion. G—It is a flexible mode of transport. H-Railway is energy -efficient mode of transport. I---Job creation is also a merit of railway transport. Designing and building a train takes an extensive network of industries, manufacturing, engineering and logistics, to name a few. J—It ensures a reduced carbon footprint. In short people of Kashmir are fortunate enough that Kashmir has been connected to southernmost Place Kaniyakumari and thus the psychological barriers are being bridged and it will open avenues of employment and socio-economic and cultural as well as technological development of Kashmir.
