6/7/2025 10:14:05 PM
Early Times Report
REASI, June 7: Girdhari Lal, a dedicated teacher and noted social worker from Middle School Sudheen, Zone Pouni, A resident of Village Bardoh, Akhnoor, Jammu, has once again set an inspiring example through his selfless service. Known earlier for financially supporting girl students with their school fees, Girdhari Lal has now taken a remarkable step towards environmental conservation and public health awareness.
In a large-scale plantation initiative spanning several government schools across Reasi district and the adjoining areas of Jammu district and Rajouri District, Girdhari Lal organized a plantation drive that saw the planting of nearly 7000-8000 saplings, with a special focus on medicinal plants.
The drive was not just about planting trees-it was a campaign to create awareness. Students and local community members were educated about the importance and benefits of medicinal plants such as neem, tulsi, amla, and aloe vera. The initiative highlighted how these plants contribute not only to ecological balance but also play a vital role in traditional and modern healthcare.
Through interactive sessions, Girdhari Lal inspired children to actively participate in such green initiatives. He shared knowledge about each plant's medicinal value and emphasized the need to preserve and promote natural remedies in daily life. His efforts created a wave of enthusiasm and responsibility among schoolchildren and villagers, instilling hope and awareness about environmental sustainability.
"Planting a tree is like planting a life," said Girdhari Lal during one of the sessions. "Medicinal plants are our heritage, and it is our duty to protect and promote them." This initiative follows his previous social service acts, where he supported the education of underprivileged girl students, proving once again that he is committed to uplifting society through both education and environmental action.
The local education department and community members have lauded Girdhari Lal's consistent contributions and recognized him as a role model for educators and social workers in the region.
