Early Times Report RAJOURI, June 11: The Indian Army has been working for the amelioration of the local populace of Samote. The area is free from militancy due to the relentless Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism Operations by Army. The unit is focused to change the perception of the underprivileged population, which ultimately manifests in sustained peace and prosperity in the region. Indian Army at Samote conducted an awareness lecture on "Cyber Crime" at JNV, Kotranka, on 11 Jun 2025. The basic aim of this lecture was to create awareness on Cyber Crime on the internet and its impact on society. The lecture covered various technical aspect of cyber threats such as online fraud, identity theft, cyberbullying, phishing and social media misuse. Practical tips and precautions were also shared to help attendees protect themselves in the digital world. It further elaborated on the fact that cyber-crimes are among the major security challenges in India along with entire world is facing presently. A total number of 44 Staff/Students (31 x Boys, 10 x Girls & 03 x Teachers) attended the said lecture. The students shared their views on the subject and vowed to educate others in their villages on the nuances of "Cyber Crime". Teachers and students whole-heartedly thanked the Indian Army and went back enlightened about the ways and means by which cyber-crime can creep into their lives and how, unknowingly people can sometimes become victims of it.
