Make your Summer Vacation memorable
6/11/2025 11:36:36 PM
Vijay Garg

The role of teachers and parents is very important in how to make the summer vacation memorable. Children love holidays very much. As soon as they are announced, their faces light up with joy. It is a golden time to get freedom from the daily hustle and bustle of school, not to wake up early in the morning, to play favorite games, travel and spend a long time with family. During the holidays, children should be given such work that enhances the quality of their life and is related to their progress and development. The purpose of holiday work should not be limited to just practicing the curriculum but should also develop the mind, brain, body and character of the children completely. Secondly, if we call this time a special opportunity to hone the skills of children, it will not be an exaggeration. Children can make valuable additions to their knowledge by making good use of this time.
Completing homework
The first thing that children have to do is to do the homework given by the teachers. Children who are behind their target can work harder and achieve their target. Special vacation homework has been made available to children through the school. This work is very interesting and knowledge-enhancing. Special attention should be paid to this work. Anyway, hard work is required to achieve new heights in studies. Children can take advantage of the vacation opportunity and engage in lesson-support activities.
Life skills training
Education is not limited to books alone. Children should be motivated to learn household chores, cooking, budgeting, taking care of things, etc. Children should be taught how to make a list of daily tasks, make a shopping list and estimate expenses, try making simple recipes, etc. They should be told how to keep their room clean, keep everything in its place, etc. Such tasks instill a sense of self-reliance and responsibility in children.
Beautiful writing
Scholars say that if the writing is beautiful, then it becomes easy to study. During the holidays, children should pay special attention to making their writing beautiful. Handwritten copies can be used for this work. The structure of each letter can be understood in depth. Beautiful writing requires constant practice. Beautiful writing is very important in examinations. With this, students can get very good marks in their paper because when the teacher checks the paper, they do not face any difficulty in checking the paper. With this, students get very good marks in the paper.
Drawing and painting work
Holiday work should be made according to the interests of the children. Drawing and painting can also be done during the holidays. A child who is good at drawing can make more progress in his studies. While it is a very interesting subject, it also increases knowledge. This work enhances the imagination of the children and develops their inner abilities. If possible, the children should be coached during the holidays in painting so that the children’s skills can improve.
Participating in sports and yoga
During the holidays, children should participate in sports to keep their bodies fit. Outdoor games that are played in open fields should be participated in. Apart from this, indoor games can also be participated in. Sports develop cooperation, ease, respect for elders and discipline in the child. Apart from this, young children should also participate in sports like Kabaddi, Hide and Seek, Barhan-DT, Kotla-Chhapaki etc. during the holidays. These increase the qualities of patience, strength and teamwork in children. Children should be encouraged to participate in a suitable camp during the holidays, which can improve the character of the children, and this also keeps the health of the students good.
Work related to the technological era Technology is very important in today’s era. The condition is that it should not be wasted. Children should be told about making audio-video projects. The creation of educational material through reels or videos and its study should be explained in depth, so that in the future they can achieve success by acquiring technical knowledge. In today’s time, it is necessary for children to have knowledge of computers, so children should also be given computer coaching during the holidays, so that during the holidays, children become experts in computers.
Environmental protection
During the holidays, children can come forward to take care of the environment. In fact, it is the duty of all of us to make the environment pleasant. We can contribute to this by protecting the common places of the village, schools, and our home gardens and planting new plants. Which is very important for our lives. Children need to be motivated to take care of plants so that they can get information about the environment.
Daily walk and exercise
Daily walks and exercise should also be a part of the holidays. By doing light exercise and walking, we can stay healthy. Daily walks cure many diseases. So, it should be a habit to make morning walks and exercise a part of daily life.
Making toys
Children can make toys out of old and used items. This activity is both interesting and meaningful. It gives children a golden opportunity to develop their talents.
Study of literary books
Library books should be read during holidays. Stories, biographies, historical books or religious texts broaden the thinking of children. Apart from this, good and knowledge-enhancing books should be a part of our home library. Reading good literature not only increases our knowledge but also our vocabulary. We should encourage them to read books by great scholars, scientists and mathematicians so that scientific thinking can be developed in them.
Tourism
There is not just a distance of four fingers between the ears and the eyes. This difference is very large. You get more information by seeing everything than by reading about it. If you want to write in detail about the Taj Mahal, it is very important to have seen it with your own eyes. So, theoretical knowledge is not enough for children, they should visit historical places, which gives them practical information.
Helping parents
Children should also help their parents with household and outdoor chores during the holidays. This increases respect for elders. On the other hand, it increases the desire to work and the sense of responsibility.
Socially responsible work
Children should be provided opportunities to connect with social sentiment. Efforts should be made to educate children with low ability by arranging remedial classes. If possible, it would be a very honest work to go to their homes and educate them. Apart from this, making posters for saving water, keeping water bowls for birds, planting trees for environmental conservation etc. should be included in the important tasks to be done during the holidays.
Holiday work provides opportunities for children to progress not only in studies but also in every aspect of life, which makes them creative, teachable and full of life skills. Children should be excited to learn, think and do something new every day. Therefore, while making good use of the summer holidays, children should not miss the opportunity to hone their own art and talent. These noble works are more needed in the context of today’s times.
