Early Times Report JAMMU, June 11: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni has demanded to give official language status to Punjabi in Jammu and Kashmir. During a press briefing at the party's state central office, Sahni said that Punjabi is the most spoken language along with Dongri in Jammu division. Punjabi was not given a place in the list of five official languages in 2020. During the recent assembly elections, almost all the political parties had promised to give official language status to Punjabi. Sahni said that all the BJP MLAs who won from the Jammu division are mum on the demand to recognize Punjabi as an official language. Sahni has demanded from the Omar government and the Lieutenant Governor to give official language status to Punjabi. |
