POONCH, June 12: In tandem with the directives of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers welfare, GOI, and under the able guidance of the Honourable Agriculture Minister Shri. Shivraj Singh Chouhanji, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch working under the auspices of Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized successfully "Viksit Krshi Sankalp Abhiyan" from 29th May, 2025 to 12th June, 2025 across the length and breadth of district Poonch. The abhiyan was a national compaign to modernize the agriculture in rural and urban areas through scientific outreach and sustainable practices with the objective of strengthening India's agricultural foundation for achieving a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India) by 2047. Being the joint nodal agency in the district Poonch, the abhiyan was carried out in coordination with agriculture and allied departments in all three sub-divisions of district. During the abhiyan the main focus was put to aware the farming community about resilient and high yielding varieties, fertilizer management, soil health card, good agricultural practices, state and central government schemes, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, milk yield improvement in livestock, fisheries and meat production etc. During the campaign lectures were delivered on varied topics by the designated teams comprising of scientists from SKUAST-Jammu, KVK, and officers of agricultural and allied departments for the benefit of farming community. Each day 03 teams campaigned in 03 bocks covering 09 locations.
