Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 12: Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, has expressed profound grief and anguish over the tragic crash of Air India Flight en route to London Gatwick, which crashed shortly after takeoff near Ahmedabad. The ill-fated aircraft, carrying 242 people, reportedly struck a doctors' hostel in Meghani Nagar, igniting a massive fire that engulfed the building. The catastrophe has claimed more than 200 lives, including passengers and crew onboard.
In a press release issued here today, the senior NC leader extended his heartfelt prayers and condolences to the grieving families and affected communities.
Rattan Lal Gupta has also strongly urged the Central Government, civil aviation authorities, and Air India leadership to initiate a full-scale, transparent investigation to uncover the technical, human, and systemic causes of this horrific crash. He called for swift and decisive accountability, along with adequate compensation, medical assistance, and psychosocial support for the bereaved families. He further emphasized that the lessons from this tragedy must lead to robust reforms in aviation safety to ensure such a disaster is never repeated. The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference stands in complete solidarity with the affected families in this hour of mourning.
