Darhal June 13: The NSS Unit in collaboration with IQAC of the college organized awareness program on “NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN” as part of the Viksit Bharat @2047 here today.
In a significant move towards eliminating drug abuse completely from the Indian society, the Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal, a renowned educational institution, took the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge today. The pledge ceremony was attended by students of all the semesters and teachers, which marked an important step in the ongoing fight against drug addiction.
Nasha Mukt Bharat is a nationwide initiative launched by the Government of India to create a drug-free nation.
The pledge serves as a collective commitment from individuals, organizations, and communities to eradicate substance abuse and contribute to a healthier and happier society.
The Pledge Ceremony commenced with the Principal of GDC Darhal, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, delivering a captivating speech on the detrimental effects of substance abuse, emphasizing the need for collective action to address this grave issue.
He motivated the attendees, especially the students, to become responsible citizens and encouraged others to abstain from drugs. Students, who are the backbone of shaping the future of the nation, enthusiastically took the pledge during the ceremony.

Collaboration with local authorities, NGOs, and other educational institutions will be sought to create a cohesive strategy for breaking the cycle of drug abuse and improving rehabilitation services.
